Sounds like a bunch of scare tactics to force us into buying over-priced drugs in the USA only. I buy my drugs from Canadian and UK pharmacies over the internet so I know the statement that "there is no governing body to ensure their safety and efficacy, which means these devices are coming from unknown sources and locations" is entirely untrue. Before I started buying my meds abroad, I researched things and there absolutely are governing bodies regulating drugs and devices like Mirena in other countries. In Canada, Health Canada regulates these products and in the UK, it is the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. Each is that countries equivalent of the US FDA and does a fine job in ensuring medicines purchased in their countries are safe and effective. If you buy from a reputable Canadian or UK pharmacy website, there is no risk. The US FDA is just trying to scare everyone into believing that high-priced meds from the USA are the only safe products to consume. Really? How come the citizens of Canada and the UK are not dying all around us if their drugs are so unsafe. The only difference between their drugs and ours is the price and the FDA should realize that we don't believe their lies designed to promote the profits of the big drug companies.
