Pat has provided you with some excellent information via the PM (personal messaging) system, and I just wanted to re-iterate some of the information for other women as well.

There is a chance of spreading HPV to another partner, depending on the strain of HPV. Some strains of HPV are suppressed by one's immune system (as I mentioned above; your body suppressed a flu or cold virus, but there is some virus still left in your body. You are no longer contagious, however). You may also become infected with another strain of HPV from a partner who does not know that he has HPV, as there are no good screening tests for men.
