Anonymous - I've had issues in the past with medical providers who would not accept my word that the auto insurance company had given verbal approval that they would cover all claims since their driver was at fault in the accident. The issue you are most likely dealing with is concern that the claim will not be paid. I suggest you get a statement in writing from the insurance company stating that the claim will be covered and be sure that it provides complete contact information for the insurance company. Once you have that, and can tell the dental practice that you have the letter, it should make this process easier for you. You may also want to talk with the claim representative at the auto insurance company and ask if they have any recommendations for dentists in your area that they have worked with to handle claims covered by auto insurance.
