I remember vividly how you and your wife Esther touched me, way back in 1987, when you contacted me regarding the documentary you were doing about sexuality and the disabled. The program ended up including footage shot at a hospital in the system that I worked for, and made quite a stir in the healthcare industry. At that time the system was one of the few in the country that actually included sexuality in the patient recovery program. All these years later, unfortunately, spinal cord injury patients are still shortchanged, especially the women.
Hopefully the future will be better and online tools will give SCI patients a greater voice in making their needs and concerns known to the public so they can get the support they need and deserve.
