Rebecca - Your post is so important. Far too many medical professionals have developed practice patterns that follow a "herd" mentality and don't address the needs of individual patients. For any physician to do the equivalent of telling you that you have a mental problem because you cared about your health and scheduled an appointment is just absurd.
Keep on writing, I have a feeling you have a lot more to share with us. :-)
