Congratulations on using a condom! When used consistently and correctly, they offer up to 98% protection against pregnancy. You (and/or your boyfriend) would know if the condom was used correctly if he ejaculated and there was ejaculatory fluid in the reservoir tip at the top of the condom, and if he withdrew his penis while still erect, holding the base of his penis and condom.

Do you typically have very regular periods? It is more important to look at cycle length rather than calender day. Women's cycles can range from 21-35 days in length ("day 1" is first day of period, and you could days until the first day of your next period). As you can imagine, if you have a "perfect" 28-day cycle, your period will eventually alter the exact calendar date, since calendar months are usually 30 or 31 days. Your period may not be "late" since it is still within the range of what would be considered normal.

Do you know how long your cycles typically are?

You have a few options:
- Wait for a week, and most likely your period will begin. Cramping is a pretty good sign of an upcoming period
- Take a home pregnancy test (it will be effective now) if you are unable to wait for a week

Good luck!
