There are no specific conditions that need to be met to stop taking this prescription once you have talked with your doctor, was given the "OK", and basically was told that it is your choice. It is important to continue with your great lifestyle choices of eating healthy foods and exercising regularly, as well as having your blood pressure checked often (or monitored by your doctor) once you stop taking this medicine.

Two questions for your doctor:
1. Can you stop taking this medicine immediately, or does the dosage need to be adjusted a few times so you are off this medication more gradually?
2. How often should you be monitored for the first 6-12 months after stopping this medicine? Do you need to go into the office, or can you check your blood pressure at another location? How often?

Good luck! If you have other questions about this medication, including the side effects as well as it's possible helpful effects, you can also talk with your Pharmacist. Great job on exercising!
