Hi neverending,
I can relate to your feeling when you said, "I am afraid to drive alone, yet afraid to go on a trip because I won't be home". I had this same excessive stress and anxiety many years ago, and the one thing that helped me was to talk to a Psychologist. I had friends and my husband who were supportive, but I didn't feel that they ever understood the depth of my fears and stress until I spoke to a "third party".

As Pat said, please find a psychologist to talk with whom you trust and have a good rapport, and if you feel you are in crisis now, do not hesitate to call the Suicide Prevention Hotline...they are there to talk with you no matter what your stressors are. We are here to talk more as well, but it is important for you to find a counselor. Can you call first thing tomorrow, make an appointment, and let us know how you are doing?
