Hello Ladies,
I am finally posting an update. I posted the original experience above after my procedure in 10/2010. Well what I have to say is extremely alarming. After the procedure the pain continued off and on and then I began to have other symptoms in my abdomen. Pain, nausea and very loud sounds. I went to my doctor over and over and she said i was fine and only needed rest. She continued to send me back home after my office visits. I ended up collapsing 4 weeks after the procedure at home and my husband had to call 911. I ended up in the ER. I had developed severe sepsis and peritonitis. My dr had punctured through my uterus and into my small bowel which had a small leak for all those weeks. Drs at the hospital were surprised I survived. I needed emergency open surgery to resection my bowel, clean out the infection that consumed my entire abdomen and removed my appendix that had become infected as well. I was hospitalized for well over a week. It has been 2yrs and have since had 2 additional surgeries for painful adhesion's that have developed around my liver from the infection. I am no longer the same person. I have also developed Fibromyalgia and CFS that seemed to be triggered by the infection that consumed my body. I have to take meds for the Fibro pain. I also have bowel problems and will need meds for the rest of my life. I am only in my mid 30's and this procedure has changed my life for the worst. I can no longer exercise, garden and stay active with my children very much because of pain. I have since found out that the procedure was never necessary unlike what my dr had told me. To top it all off I still have my period and if anything its worse now. Please think seriously about the possible complications that can occur and definitely seek the opinion of more then one doctor. I can no longer trust doctors like I used to :(.
