Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Kudos for being forthright and getting on birth control after this experience. You will find that it can be fun and not stressful when you take care of things and protect yourself from unwanted pregnancy and STDs.
Anytime you have penis-to-vagina contact, it's risky even without ejaculation, because there could possibly be what's called pre-ejaculate that seeps from the penis--he and you may not even realize it, and it COULD contain sperm. So yes, the behavior is risky, but getting pregnant that way is not likely--what you did is called the withdrawal method of birth control, and it's only about 70% accurate at preventing pregnancy. This also has been discussed at amazing great lengths in this thread. Check it out: Am I Pregnant?
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
