I am 63 and was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in January 2014 - and have been Gluten Free for 10 months. I had Gastric LapBand Surgery in 2005 [lost 100+ pounds, but have regained 40] - I have to have my GLB removed next month due to Barrett's Esophagus and Hiatal Hernia. I know after going over the symptoms of Celiac that I have had this all of my life. I have always struggled with my weight and constipation. In year three post GLB, my trainer thought that I wasn't eating enough...and asked me to introduce whole grains into my diet [I cycle 100miles per week and work out]. I started gaining weight again & felt really bad & of course, was and am hungry all of the time! Now, I have a new doctor/surgeon - and he believes that I should do the Gastric Bypass. He believes that it will help bypass my small intestine - and improve my health by weight loss & maintainence. Does anyone have info on this topic [Gastric Bypass and Celiac Disease improvement post surgery].
