EmpowHER has great resources for helping you get a handle on your weight loss goals. Most health care professionals will tell you that the best way to lose weight is to set attainable goals and start with healthy eating (including portion control), and regular exercise. Have you discussed your plans with your doctor? The doctor may be able to provide some good resources, and it's always a good idea to consult with them before starting any weight loss plan. Your doctor can help make sure you take any conditions you may have into consideration and also can help verify the program you plan to use is a right choice for reaching your goals.
Have you checked out articles on weight loss and exercise? There also is a group called ]]>Diet]]> here that discusses everything dealing with healthy eating, and weight loss. There may be other groups that interest you on your goal to understand yourself better and deal with any obstacles on that road.
