Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. I can only imagine what a blow it was to you emotionally to find out you have a heart condition. I would think it understandable you are still going through the aftershocks of having surgery in July. Isn't the recovery following open-heart surgery roughly three months? And you're having to re-learn some things, like having to be on medication, and coping with everything that's happened. Mind you, I'm not a doctor, or a therapist, and you may want to talk with either or both for information specific to your case. Would you consider being treated with medication and talk therapy at least on a short term basis if needed? Would you be interested in joining a support group for heart patients? What do you think? And please let us know what your doctor says.
