Slings are used for female incontinence. According to the Mayo Clinic, the sling procedures are the most common surgery to treat stress incontinence — uses strips of your body's tissue or synthetic material or mesh to create a pelvic sling or hammock around your bladder neck and the tube that carries urine from the bladder (urethra). The sling provides support to keep the urethra closed — especially when you cough or sneeze. Slings typically have high rates of effectiveness and low risks of complications.
There are three different types of slings that are sued which are called: tension-free slings, adjustable slings and conventional slings. I will assume that you are talking about tension-free slings as you referred to Tslings!
Tension free slings from the Mayo Clinic indicate that there are no stitches are used to attach the tension-free sling, which is made from a synthetic strip of mesh. Instead, tissue itself holds the sling in place initially. Eventually scar tissue forms in and around the mesh to keep it from moving. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports some rare complications from the surgical mesh, including erosion, infection and pain.
