Thanks for your question and for finding Empowher. A Category C drug means that there just hasn't been enough testing on pregnant women to determine if it is safe to take in pregnancy or not. In this case, you have to weigh the benefits of taking the drug versus not taking it. Or is there an alternative that may be as effective and isn't a Cat. C drug? Your doctor and pharmacist are the best resources for figuring that out. Work with them and advocate for your own health and the health of your fetus to ensure a safe pregnancy.
