Navigating the healthcare system is far more difficult than most people ever expect, and many burdens fall on the caregiver (if the patient is fortunate enough to have one) which makes a difficult and stressful time even harder. It helps a lot to be able to learn from someone who's "been there" and can ease the journey.
I'd like to suggest a book for you - "The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation Takes On Alzheimer's." The book, written by Maria Shriver, has information on the most current treatments and how Alzheimer's is affecting some 10 million women who either have this or are a caregiver who someone else.
