I would like some information on what types of birth defects are caused by taking Clomid whilst pregnant. A family member was trying to fall pregnant several months after having given birth to her first child, as she wanted the children to be close together. After three months of trying (approx 9 months after giving birth) she had still not fallen pregnant, so went to see an OBGYN who referred her to another OBGYN who specialises in fertility. This doctor put my family member on Clomid to help with ovulation without doing any prior testing, even though he was aware that she had been trying to fall pregnant for several months and that she had also had a previous successful pregnancy. After she took the clomid she discovered that she was in fact already pregnant but hadn't been aware at the time of taking the pills. The baby has now been born and is having problems feeding and has only put on 150gm in seven weeks. She is undergoing tests at the moment for neurological problems. I would really like to know if this could be related to the taking of clomid whilst she was pregnant
