dmickey - Thanks for your question. There are some rare types of ovarian cysts that produce hormones that can interfere with a pregnancy test. Normally, however, the pregnancy test is merely a test for the presence of HCG (human chorionic gonadotropic hormone), which is found in pregnancy. If HCG is present, you are pregnant. The odds are most likely that your positive is a positive, even with the ovarian cyst, but it would be good to follow up with an additional test done by your doctor to be sure. Good luck!
