Thank you for you help, our son always walked on his toes, we were very active with in home physio , since he responded to the physio the specialist ruled out CP and he was left with a Idiopathic toe walking diagnosis . He had tight muscles and tendons in his achilles, front and back legs and a little in the neck at times. What happened for the next 2 years between age 2-4 was just awful. With every growth spurt, he would be in extreme knee pain for weeks, he would cry 22 hours a day.
At 41/2 things got a little better the growth was not as extreme ( less then 1/2 inch at a time) By 5 we were able to do physio only twice daily. We were told the next hurdle for him would be pre-teen. However, the pain came back with just a bit too much walking or bike riding, or sometimes we didn't even know why. We would continue rubbing his knees with a anti inflammatory ( our life saver). At 6 , he had his first break from pain it was so little maybe 1-2 times a week and no more screaming during the night / day from pain, we could get rid of the discomfort by rubbing his knee for less then 20 mins.
At 61/2 we have no idea and the Dr. at Sick Kid's has no idea either, the tight muscles entered his back, hip , neck, arms, top of his foot. He no longer had the pain in his knees, but he couldn't sit cross legged without pain. His hip and foot brought him to tears. We were put on the acute pain program with a physio and she gave us exercises to stretch those muscles. They did a MRI ( head, spine) to rule out different diseases. The MRI came back normal. After 6 weeks he started to respond to the new exercises and he had an amazing summer/ fall. When he fell in Dec. at school he tripped over a ball and hit his head on the gym floor. He could not remember which way he fell, he was vomiting and had horrible headache. They said it was a moderate concussion. That was 4 weeks ago, 2 weeks ago , they headaches were letting up , only every second day and did not even need Tylenol. I don't know why but 6 days ago a headache started and never left for 3 days , he had some relief for 2 hours , they it came back like a lion. I took him back to the Dr., he recommended Motrin 24 hours for a while to get rid of the headaches. The headaches have been with him now for 6days and they are just so painful. Last night was a bad night for him, the front of his head was so sore, it was throbbing under my hand. The motrin gives him about a 11/2 hour relief( headache goes down to a very min.) but not gone altogether.
I am sorry this is so long, I guess I feel a little scared with everything.
