My wife was diagnosed with GBS Friday April 4th 2014. She is about 90 - 95% recovered but still suffers pain in her hips, hands & feet, especially at night. She just turned 60 in August 2017. She has been a casual wine drinker (once or twice a month) most of her adult life. I quit drinking any alcohol a couple of years ago to encourage her to do the same but she still drinks about the same. I have noticed when she does, she has more fatigue, a bad day the next day. I'm monitoring her to make a more accurate assessment if the alcohol makes any difference. I would think, clinically, that because alcohol kills cells, it is harmful to the healing process for people affected by GBS!
