I can understand your dread in more surgery, especially if you do not know if it is going to be successful or not.

I have been researching this question for you, and am honestly running into more questions than answers. I am forwarding your question to one of our medical advisory board members, in hopes to receive more information or some answers to your questions.

Do you have any additional information that you could share, including any recommendations your doctor(s) have made?

In the meantime, I have discovered that different hospitals promote various "standards of success" in regards to failure rates vs. success rates for surgical procedures. In fact, one hospital define success of a similar procedure as yours as, "...improvement in pain plus preservation of function...". Do you know what your surgeon and/or hospital describes as a "successful procedure" for "robotic pyeloplasty to repair upj obstruction"?
