I had the surgery when I was 17, for very severe endometriosis. I felt so much better afterwards. If it isn't too severe, then the birth control pills should be enough. It is really important to follow doctor's orders while you are healing. My main complications came from trying to do too much too quickly. The anesthia has gotten so much better, don't worry too much about that.
Since mine was much more severe, they had to stop the laparotomy and make a larger incision, so things are a little different. My problem was as I have gotten older, trying to get a doctor that understands the complications. Most doctors who are experts in endometriosis work with infertility, and that is not what I am looking for.
Keep your chin up, you will do fine and feel better afterwards.
