Thanks for your question and for joining EmpowHER. Taking the birth control pill is only effective if you take it everyday at roughly the same time every day. You have put yourself at increased risk for pregnancy if you didn't use any other form of birth control (condoms, spermicide, withdrawal method). You may want to give your doctor a call and see if there is a method that works better for you. You also may want to ask them if you should start over with taking the pill. Not sure if they would have other instructions for you to get you back on track since you missed so many pills. They may recommend you take two for several days, but we're not doctors, so we can't give such advice.

If you miss your next period, you can take a home pregnancy test, or request a pregnancy test from your doctor.
