At 43 if you are averaging a maximum heart rate between 160-170 your're still within a normal range. Feeling a little out of breathe when performing moderate cardio is normal. What you need to look out for is if you start to feel out breathe too quickly-- then you may have to slow it down a bit. If you want to maintain a target heart rate of 90-153 beats per minute, then try taking the exercise a little slower with a decrease in resistance or pace-- depending on what you're doing.
