No to belabor the issue, but I think a key here is to know all your options so you don't do something you regret later on. If you don't have to have the hysterectomy, try a different procedure. However, if there is a slim chance that a different procedure will completely take care of the problem, then have the hysterectomy. Develop criteria, pros and cons lists, and do what seems logical.
