Did you have an irregular period before getting on BC? It sounds like it is irregular now but getting back on birth control to regulate it will only work while you are on the birth control pills and that will prevent you from getting pregnant.
It is not impossible to get pregnant with an irregular cycle, it is just harder because ovulation becomes unpredictable. Have you talked to your doctor regarding this?
