Hi,
I am sorry you are so worried, but please know that it can be normal for a woman to miss a period, without it indicating a medical condition. Your last menstrual period was in February, and although it lasted only two days instead of your normal five days...this can also be normal.

Women's cycles do change, and as we are constantly interacting and reacting to our environments...so are our cycles. Women's cycles can "suddenly" change due to a recent illness, new medication, excess stress, sudden weight loss, or for no "apparent" reason. Please also know that women also have a change in their menstrual cycles because there is a medical condition...if you do not have your regular menstrual cycle in April, you need to call your doctor (gynecologist) to rule out any possible medical reasons. You can also call your doctor today if you want some more reassurance...you know your body best.

What does your common sense tell you about your boyfriend's remark? Do you think a woman who chooses not to have sex (or to have sex, for that matter) would actually impact her menstrual cycle? The answer is an emphatic "No, it does not!", and I hope your boyfriend is more caring and sensitive than this one comment suggests. If he is pressuring you to have sex, trying to make you feel guilty or suggesting your body is being harmed by not having sex...these are some good reasons to have a heart-to-heart talk with him about respecting your choices.
