If the antibiotics did not work, you need to tell your doctor. If your doctor does not hear back from you, s/he will assume the medication worked.

Sometimes the first round of antibiotics do not work, and other dose or another type of antibiotic is needed.

Please also have your doctor diagnose the specific type of bacteria that is causing your UTI, so that the right type of antibiotic is prescribed (some doctors prescribe a more "generic" antibiotic that cures most UTIs. If your UTI is recurrent, you need a "specific" antibiotic to cure your specific infection).

There are many factors to women experiencing UTIs that are recurrent (or never fully cured). Can you think of any lifestyle-related behaviors that may be contributing to your UTI? For instance, wearing tight pants, having frequent sex, wearing a wet bathing suit too long, etc....these can all contribute to a UTI, and each have their own remedy. (For instance, many women have posted about having UTIs after sex, and we can provide the links to this information if this pertains to you).
