Why do you think he'll try to take your baby away? Has he threatened you with this? Or is it just a thought? In the U.S., men can't take a mother's child just because :) If you are a good mother, you have nothing to worry about.
Cross the separation bridge when you get there but as of now how are you feeling about your relationship? Have you two talked?
