After being pulled from the soccer field, my 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with juvenile dermatomyositis in May of 2011 by a renowned specialist. We received a tip about gluten shortly after beginning a terrible regiment of steroids. We fought with the specialists to explore the connection. They would not budge. We stepped down the steroids and removed all gluten from her diet. She was treated by a gastro-intestinal doctor for a couple of months. Her symptoms went into complete remission and have remained that way to this day. All visible signs are gone. She is healthier than ever and recently completed a triathlon in August.
