Hi KSanchez,

There's a difference between the Buffalo hump-- which is exactly what your ENT told you, fatty deposits under your skin and that gives it a "hump" appearance-- and a swollen lymph node, which is when you can see or feel a lymph node that's enlarged-- and this usually looks like an enlarged nodule-- nothing like the hump. If you have been battling a sinus infection then it is a definite possibility that that could be the cause and if it is caused by the sinus infection then it will go back down to its normal size on its own. On your next visit to your ENT, I would bring this up just to have him take a look at it.
