Yes, it was written as tongue-in-cheek. I wrote because so many people I know (including myself) make excuses about not having time to meditate and instead pop pills to relief their pain.
Check on the next article I wrote: 20 Reasons Meditation is Good for Health, which makes a lot more sense, right??

BTW, I listened to my own advice - I now meditate twice a day. :>
