If you used condoms then you should be safe. Your period is acting a bit weird probably because you took the next day pill.. and also because you had sex for the first time and your hormones can easily go crazy after such an event and change. So no need to panic here, really.
The only two little things i would recommend/point out here are: no matter what your boyfriend says and how much he insists of having sex without a condom, do not accept that unless you are seriously thinking of having a family and a child with him. So many guys whine about it all the time, but the truth is that no one should play with such an enormous thing as creating a new life just because of a temporary pleasure.
And the second thing is: the next day pills is an emergency contraceptive, it contains high hormone dosage and you should't take it unless it is really necessary. nothing will happen if you take it once or twice but making a common use of it simply out of panic without no real need (ie. a condom breaks or slips off, you end up having unprotected sex...) is not recommended.
