Thanks for your question and welcome! The spotting that you saw could simply be old blood (hence the brown) mixed with discharge. Sometimes due to shifts in hormones, we will have midcyle spotting that can be either bright red or brown in color. Or, at any time during the month, there could be some dislodging of pooled blood resulting in brown spotting-- this is absolutely normal and nothing to worry about. The white stuff, if it looked like discharge, it's likely what was mixed in but if you cannot tell what it is then it's best if you try to schedule an appointment with your OB/GYN unless you already have a scheduled appointment coming up where you can address your issue.
