Hi Anonymous-- Welcome!

Waking up once a night to use the restroom is very common and normal. If you were waking up more often then maybe I would suggest you being tested for diabetes. However, at 63, you want to start trying to avoid waking up in the middle of the night altogether, bones get fragile and unfortunately many falls occur in the dark when trying to get to the bathroom. So, if we are trying to avoid the risk of falling I would advise that you take your last glass of water or drink a couple of hours before sleep and make sure you use the restroom prior to entering the bed.

As far as your joint pain, please consult this with your doctor. It is important that you get your bones thoroughly assessed to determine what cause be causing the pain. Certain conditions limit certain kinds of exercises and require other types. So, the fact that you do weight bearing exercises some days and flexibility exercise on others may have an impact on your bones.

Please keep us posted and best wishes to you,

Rosa
