My uncle was originally diagnosed with ulcerative colitis by Dr. Crohn himself back in New York City many moons ago (about 45 years ago actually). And it wasn't until he had his colon removed during surgery that they figured out it was actually Crohn's disease. I myself also have IBD, but so far they have said it is UC.
