Thanks for the share! During my first pregnancy, my dog had parvo virus and I didn't have the money to hospitalize it. My emotions got the best of me at the Vet's office and he was kind enough to teach me a more conservative treatment which involved IV hydration, medications, and constantly feeding him baby cereal mixed with pedialyte-- three straw-fulls at a time. It was a lot of work, but he made it. I know that I would have been devastated if I lost my dog during my pregnancy-- the love for a pet and the love for a child are different... but there is no denying the bond that a person feels with their loyal dog.
