What you are describing sounds like your ovulation day was Saturday. Once your temperature peaks it means that you have already ovulated, hence fertility friend saying you ovulated Saturday and your temp peaking on Sunday.
I'm not sure who "her" is--assuming it was your doctor she is right. Progesterone is a hormone found in pregnancy so it isn't harmful to you or the baby if you were to be pregnant.
