If your gums are bleeding when you brush your teeth, this may be a sign of gingivitis or periodontal gum disease. This is something that you should address prior to trying to conceive (if you are not pregnant this month) because gum disease is known to be a cause of premature delivery of the baby. During pregnancy, your gums may also bleed but that's why it is recommended to visit your dentist regularly, even during pregnancy.
If you miss your period this month, please take a pregnancy test.
