Hi Melvina,

Thank you for your post and welcome! I'm so sorry to hear that your sister has progressive Multiple Sclerosis and even more sorry that it seems like her husband has given up on her.

How old are the children? Sometimes when kids are young it's hard for the other parent to decide whether they want their children to be children instead of giving them the role of caregivers which can really put a strain on them. Don't get me wrong, I think it's important that they spend time with their mom, even if it's at her bedside-- but I certainly don't think children should take on the caregiver role.

I am assuming that your sister has a caregiver during the day. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if her caregiver leaves around 7pm, then this is only a few hours before night time. Does she take medications at night that she needs someone to give her? Does her husband spend time with her? Are there any friends or family members that visit and keep her company?

Here is an MS that you may want to be a part of:

If you would also like to start your own group for caregivers, please do so!

Thank you for being such a caring sister,

Rosa
