Lipoma seems like a likelier possibility than a hematoma, based on what you described in your original post. Lipomas are actually more firm than they are soft-- so your diagnosis based on the ultrasound seems to be accurate.
Lipomas can be removed at your request-- although not medically necessary because they aren't harmful to your health. If it is painful or growing, then this is something that should be addressed to your doctor and it should then be removed. For the most part, other than it not being appealing to the eye, the lipoma is basically just a lump of fat.
