Hi Anonymous,

It helps to know people that you can relate to. This is why I share my miscarriage with our members. Mine was in 2007 and it was my very first pregnancy. I also had a D&C and although it was meant to be an outpatient procedure, I lost a lot of blood and spent the night at the hospital for observation. I remember having to wear SCD's, or Sequential Compression Devices on my lower legs until I was discharged-- they were extremely annoying because they were constantly compressing my lower legs but they are certainly better than developing a blood clot. Thank you for sharing your pointers-- it is important that when patients have limited mobility, they understand the risks, signs, and symptoms of DVT and ways to help prevent it. For those recovering at home, although you can't have the SCD machine with you, you can purchase TED stockings which are also known as anti-embolitic stockings to compress your calves and promote venous return.

The emotional pain of losing a child is only something that others who have been lost a child can relate to. It doesn't matter if you lost that child at 5 weeks or 5 months during your pregnancy-- the pain is still the same. From the minute a parent finds out they are expecting a child, a love and bond forms between you and the little one that is growing inside of you-- this bond will remain forever. You will forever cherish your little angel.

If you would like to join our group, Empty Arms-- you are more than welcomed to-- please share your story with others: https://www.empowher.com/groups/Empty-Arms

Best Wishes,

Rosa
