I experienced something very similar. It started to necks very painful to have sex and it felt like my muscles were affected. My doctor told me it wasn't the birth control but sex continued to get worse so I eventually took it out. Within a month or two, sex no longer hurt but because I experienced significant pain I had to go to therapy so I could emotionally enjoy sex again.
