Great article. Many women avoid resistance/strength training because they are afraid that they will "bulk up". This is not the case. Resistance training has been proven to improve insulin levels, blood pressure, preserve lean body mass, promote bone health, and supports a healthy metabolism. I fully agree that people should do what they enjoy. It will make them much more compliant with exercising on a regular basis. If a person has no idea where they should start with an exercise program, he or she should consult with a personal trainer. Personal trainers have the knowledge to apply the specific details of a client's health and fitness background to design the best program for their clients.
