Look in your area for a PlannedParenthood. I went there when I was your age. And their rules were as long as you were over 15 they would not need parent's approval. I know in my area here in Denver you could make an apointment at the local health department and get an exam and birth control without talking with a parent. I think it's wise of you to take the steps of wanting birth control. Better to be prepared then to be pregnant before your ready. I think your mom should let you, even if it upsets her she is an adult and has been pregnant and should understand that you are trying to NOT get pregnant at a young age. Maybe talk with your Dr. about how you are ready but she wont give the ok. Maybe the Dr can recomend a place for you to pick it up for free. The dr might even give you a depo shot there in the office. Keep your chin up sweetie, there are ways around a mother who is not ready for you to grow up. Maybe sit down with her and talk caimly about it (go out for coffee or somewhere nutural). And let her know that you are sexually active and that you want to be responsible about it and make sure your having safe sex. That you would like to be on birth control (with her permission) so that you don't get pregnant. And include that her agreeing to you being on birth control is not giving you permission to have ton's of sex. It's better to be on birthcontrol continuously untill your ready to have children. Good luck.
