It is important to remember that Next Choice is not the abortion pill. Emergency contraception provides you with backup protection to help prevent a pregnancy after an unexpected event, such as:

if you don't take your birth control pills as directed
you did not use any birth control method
when a sexual attack occurs
Next Choice has only 2 tablets:
The first one should be taken within 72 hours (3 days) of having unprotected sex, sexual attack, or a known or suspected contraceptive failure, and a study shows a greater effect when taken sooner1
The second one should be taken 12 hours after the first tablet is taken.
Next Choice is not effective if you're already pregnant, and it will not terminate an existing pregnancy.
