I can tell you that, after being diagnosed with DCIS in June 2009, having surgery and radiation, I have only now gotten off the "every 6 months" mammograms and all is well. I look at each and every one myself, just out of curiosity. After my brachytherapy radiation, I noticed the films started showing a shadow close to my chest wall. The radiology-oncologist said it was a lymph node. It is sometimes noticeable both palpably and by low level pain. No one is concerned about it at all. It hasn't changed in 4 years and no one comments on it. I hope yours is as little trouble to you as mine is to me!
