The drug Acyclovir is commonly prescribed to lessen or prevent outbreaks. Lysine may also help but talk with an MD about using multiple drugs to fight outbreaks. Common triggers are fatigue, stress, eating high argenine foods like nuts, seeds, or lots of carbos. Be honest with your partner about your outbreak and educate yourself & them about risks.
