Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with EmpowHER! Irregular periods can be very frustrating and confusing as you never know exactly when they are going to come. However, there are some diet adjustments you can make to help regulate your period.

Eating less processed foods and more natural and healthy ones can help regulate your cycle. According to Women To Women, eating fewer refined carbohydrates and taking a daily multivitamin fish-oil supplement are good diet modifications.

Eating a well-balanced diet is key to living a healthy lifestyle and is beneficial if you want to regulate your period. Eat foods rich in calcium like milk, yogurt, tofu, salmon and kale. Incorporate a diverse mix of fruits and veggies, and don't forget your whole grains. Vitamin E is also a good choice and can be found naturally in foods like avocado and eggs.

Besides eating healthier, stress relief can also help regulate your periods. Try working out to blow off steam, meditate or take a yoga class. For me personally, yoga is a great way to work out while also relaxing both your body and mind.

Hope this was helpful and let me know if these diet tips helps regulate your cycle!

Best,

Erin
