Hi Anon, Thank you for sharing your question with EmpowHER! I'm sorry to hear you are having such irregular periods as well as mood changes with these different kinda of birth control. Typically, the pill can help regulate periods and allow you to be on a cycle where you know when your menstrual cycle will come. While you had your Mirena IUD, did you ever have any abnormal periods? Or has it been just more recently since you got your IUD removed and started the pill? I think the main cause of the irregular periods may be from switching between different types of birth control. Your body may still be trying to adjust itself to a menstrual cycle based off the changes from your birth control. Although a hysterectomy can help with the irregular bleeding because your period would stop, I must want you that a hysterectomy is a very serious procedure that needs a lot of thought beforehand. Having a hysterectomy can change the body's chemistry and your emotions even more. Did you like Mirena while you were on it? If that form of birth control worked, it may be a good idea to talk to your doctor about trying it again. Here is an article on EmpowHER that talks about different birth controls and how to choose the best option for you. https://www.empowher.com/birth-control/content/choosing-right-birth-cont... It may be worth a try to talk to a different OBGYN to get a second opinion from your regular one too. I hope this helped! Please keep me updated and let me know if you have more questions.
